Did you know that Hitit takes its name from the ancient Hittites?
Hitit was founded in 1994 by airline executives who believed that the industry deserved better than the legacy systems of the time, and who set out to deliver a new standard. Guided by this vision, Hitit has been developing innovative technologies for the aviation and travel industries for more than 30 years.
The name Hitit is inspired by the Hittite civilization, a powerful empire that once flourished in the lands of modern Türkiye and stood as one of the most influential civilizations of its time. The Hittites made remarkable contributions to humanity. They were among the first to discover and use iron, they advanced the transportation systems of their era, and they were among the few civilizations to grant basic human and property rights to all citizens without exception.
Inspired by this legacy of firsts, we have taken a similar path in aviation and travel technologies. By challenging established norms and rethinking conventional approaches, we continue to bring a fresh perspective to the industry and shape the future of travel.
Hitit has had many important milestones along this journey. The company's first major offering was "Crane FF - Frequent Flyer", one of the earliest purpose-built airline passenger loyalty systems in the world. Crane FF was designed from the ground-up with the specific needs and challenges of the aviation industry in mind, and provided a solution perfectly suited for airlines looking to go beyond the artificial limitations of their IT systems. As the first example of what would eventually become the Hitit approach to redefine expectations through innovative solutions, Crane FF was very well received by the industry and put Hitit on the global stage – so much so that it became the most widely used airline loyalty solution in the world by 2012.
After Crane FF introduced airlines to a new way of doing business without being dragged down by legacy technology, Hitit quickly expanded on this approach by creating a whole new division to focus on core airline solutions. The initial development of Crane PSS started in 2000, and 2003 saw the release of a modern, web-based passenger service system. Crane PSS, now a cloud-based software as a service platform in its latest iteration, has since been joined by other members of Crane Airline Solutions spanning the entire airline ecosystem from reservations and departure control to operations, planning, accounting, cargo, travel merchandising, business intelligence and more.

A graduate of the Departments of Physics and Mathematics at İstanbul University in 1973, Nur Gökman started her career as a Computer Programmer at Akbank Information Processing Center from 1975 to 1977, after completing programming training in 1974. She later held various roles at Turkish Airlines (THY), including Computer Programmer (1977-1983), Project Leader (1983-1989), System Development Manager (1989-1990), IT Vice President (1990-1994), and Training President (1994-1996). As one of the founders of Hitit, the first company in Türkiye's aviation informatics sector, Gökman has been integral to its rise to become one of the leading aviation technology companies in the world. She stepped down as CEO on September 1, 2024, continuing her role as the Chairwoman of the Board.

Nevra Onursal Karaağaç completed her undergraduate studies in Communication Design at Carnegie Mellon University in 2002, followed by a master's degree in Interaction Design at Domus Academy in 2005. She holds certifications in Business Strategy and Financial Performance from INSEAD Business School and in Executive Leadership from Oxford University. She started her career in 2002 as Graphic Designer Intern at Wunderman NYC, serves as Art Director at On3 Creative Group between 2003-2004 and at Leo Burnett Istanbul in 2006. Mrs. Nevra joined Hitit as a Creative Director in 2006. After holding positions as Brand Manager and Marketing Director, she was appointed as Chief Sales and Marketing Officer in 2018. Karaağaç has played a key role in driving Hitit's sales growth and expanding its presence in the global market. As of September 2024, Nevra Onursal Karaağaç serves as the CEO of the company.

Graduated from Boğaziçi University, Istanbul in 1987 as a Computer Engineer, Atilla Lise began his career in Turkish Airlines and worked as an IT Manager until 2000. Then, he continued his path in Turkish Airlines as head of Turkish Airlines Cargo and was responsible for all Turkish Airlines Cargo operations including marketing, sales, network management, capacity planning, cargo pricing, revenue management and cargo fleet development before getting promoted to Senior Vice President. With his 30+ years of experience in airline management, IT technologies, air cargo & logistics industry, Mr. Lise started working at Hitit as the Head of Air Cargo & Innovative Solutions in October 2018. In addition to holding an MBA, he also holds PPL (Private Pilot License) Certification.

Sezer Tug Ozmutlu started her career in 1992 at Pegasus Airlines as Assistant Revenue Control Manager. In 2007, she was appointed as the Manager of Revenue Control and became the Director of Revenue Control in 2012. On 1st June 2015 she was appointed the CFO of Hitit Computer Systems. With over 22 years of experience in the airline business, she is very much involved in preventing revenue losses through effective operational processes and innovative initiatives in close coordination with the commercial and operational divisions. Sezer has a BA in Economics and an MA in International Relations from İstanbul University. She holds a CPA License, a Financial Internal Audit Certificate and various other qualifications in auditing, accounting and finance along with the IATA Diploma in Passenger Revenue Accounting and Control.

Ozgur Cuhadar has played a key role in the development of Crane PAX solution and Crane PSS System. He has been leading and directing the strategies as a Development Director at Hitit for many years. He also played managerial roles in developing Airline support systems such as Revenue & Cost Accounting, Schedule Planning, Operations Control, Crew Management. Now Ozgur serves Hitit as the Head of Technology.

Taking his bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering at Ege University in 1999 and completing the Executive Development Courses offered by Sabancı University, Semih Sakiz attended Harvard Mentorship Program to take core Business Administration courses. He started his career as a solution architect in Turkish Airlines and spent 15 years there as a team leader, system programmer and finally as the IT Infrastructure Manager. After having 5 years of experience in banking, he returned to the aviation sector with his extensive knowledge of the entire range of information technology functions, software development, infrastructure, operations administration and project management. Now, Semih works at Hitit as the Head of Infrastructure & Operations.

Figen Dönder joined Hitit Team at the beginning of 2017 with 20 years of experience in HR. Figen got both BS and MS degree from Marmara University. She graduated from Faculty of Education, Department of English Language Teaching in 1992 and she had Human Resources Management and Development master’s degree in 2000. She took major responsibilities in implementation of all corporate HR Functions, as Specialist, Manager, VP and Consultant through the years in different sectors: chemical, automotive, steel, technology and finance/insurance. In 2014, she got the Coaching Certificate.

Yener Kılıç graduated with a degree in Computer Engineering from Ege University in 1999 and began his career at Koçbank. Between 1999 and 2002, he worked as a System Engineer in the Information Systems System Support Department, followed by a role as a Database Administrator in the Database Management Department from 2002 to 2009. During this time, he also played a key role in the 2006 merger of Yapı Kredi and Koçbank. At Yapı Kredi, he served as Open Systems and Data Storage Management Manager from 2009 to 2010, System Design and Planning Manager from 2011 to 2014, and Security Management Director (CISO) from 2014 to 2020. In January 2021, he joined Hitit as a Director in the System Infrastructure and Operation Department. In October 2024, he was appointed Chief System Infrastructure and Operation Officer.

Özlem Salihoğlu graduated from Boğaziçi University with a degree in Industrial Engineering and began her career at Turkish Airlines (THY). Over 31 years, she held senior leadership roles across marketing, sales, partnerships, and alliance management, most recently serving as President of International Relations and Alliances. She is a founding member of Women in Aviation International (WAI) Türkiye and has contributed to international bodies including Star Alliance and the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Since December 2025, she has been serving as Partner Experience Advisor at Hitit, reporting directly to the General Manager.
